Huawei Honor 8 Pro: Top 6 Reasons To Grab One!

If there was ever a more confusing time to be in the market for a smartphone, it is 2017. The list of AMAZING handsets from all OEM’s is staggering, even from some of the smaller littler known manufacturers have created some noteworthy devices. Huawei has had a great year thus far, surpassing Apple as the 2nd largest OEM for smartphone sales worldwide.  They have achieved this feat by creating devices like this beast, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro. So let me give you 6 reasons why you need to go out and get it.

Cheaper P10 Plus – The P10 Plus is this year’s top offering from Huawei (until Mate 10 comes out), and it is also the most expensive device in their arsenal. The Honor 8 Pro is almost identical in specs sub a few differences, but in the Honor designed body.  The fact that the 8 Pro shares the most important specs (CPU, Display Res) with its P10 Plus cousin at a more affordable price, makes this device a gem for 2017.

Great Performance, Great Value: This device shares the same CPU & GPU as the P and Mate series. So performance is already up there with some of the best devices right off the bat.  However, Honor managed to shave off some dollars off the price tag. From 64gb storage w/ 4gb of RAM, you are able to go right up to 128gb storage w/ 6gb of RAM. The Honor 8 Pro is a certified beast and is a better purchase than the P-10 Plus unless you value the Leica lenses and water resistance.

Photography: The dual 12mp cameras with the RGB sensor and monochrome sensor take some very memorable pictures. You really do have to be a skilled photographer to put the Leica lenses through its paces. For the everyday consumer looking to just take some great shots, this camera is far more than capable of handling its own.

Battery Life:  Now this is one area the Honor 8 Pro outdid its P-10 plus a cousin. The Honor 8 Pro packs a 4000mAh battery while the P10 plus has a 3750mAh battery. Safe to say that you are able to get 2 days on 1 charge which is incredible due to the fact that it’s a 5.7” Quad HD display.

Build Quality: The Honor 8 Pro comes in a brush aluminium body with rounded edges and some good weight to it. Due to the device feeling substantial in the hand, it gives a very premium feel when holding it. Now because it is aluminium, it is also not the grippiest device to hold, and at 5.7”, you will definitely have a bit of issue holding it in one hand. So make sure you get a case and that should negate the device slipping through your hands. The device also comes in a nice selection of colours (Red, Gold, Blue, Black).

Display: Usually, whenever you want to get a device with a large display, naturally they are going to cost more than the smaller devices, throw Quad HD into the mix, and you are looking at a solid price tag on a device. The Huawei Honor 8 Pro is the most affordable flagship device with a 5.7” Quad HD IPS display. The device packs a solid 515ppi (pixel per inch), gets very bright and has no problems with outdoor visibility. Colors are sharp, accurate, and it’s a pleasure to use when consuming your media or reading text.

When going through the spec sheet, and reviews, one would automatically assume that the cost of this device here in Trinidad & Tobago, would rival the S8, LG G6, HTC U11, etc, but that is not the case here. The base model for this device starts from $4200 for the 64gb storage/4gb RAM variant.  Which is an absolute steal for the features and quality this device is bringing to the table. Sure some form of water resistance or OIS would have been nice. But when you are getting all of this plus a dual sim device with expandable memory via the hybrid sim tray for this price point, whatever omissions on this device are quite fair.

I hope this gave you enough reasons to go out and purchase a Huawei Honor 8 Pro, and as always. If you would like to grab one of these amazing devices, you can click this link (Huawei Honor 8 Pro Sales Page)  for more information on the device and pick it up in our store.
