Well, folks, we have gathered up all the rumours to date on another one of the most anticipated phones for 2017, the LG V30. The V20 came out last year in Sept and is not a full-year-old, so let’s see if the rumours of the V30 make it a worthwhile successor to the widely popular V20.
The V30 is set to land on Aug 30, one day before the IFA conference is going to kick off in Berlin. Last year, LG waited till after the conference to release it but decided to get the jump early and push it before the start of the conference this year.
The V30 will have a few firsts for LG. The device will be available for pre-order which is not something LG has done in the past with devices. They have also decided to ditch the IPS LCD panel in favour for their new curved OLED panels similar to what’s in their G Flex line. LG has been developing this tech for a while and is slated to provide their screens for the new iPhone 8 and Xiaomi Note 3.
There will be 3 storage variants of the V30 which are 32gb, 64gb and 128gb. It will be sporting the Snapdragon 835 CPU with 6gb of RAM, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an upgraded Quad Dac for all of you audiophiles out there. The battery will be a 3200mAh battery, would have liked to have seen something bigger but hopefully, the software is optimised well to get the best out of it.
I’m sure some will be disappointed by the news that the V30 will have a non-removable battery, and will take design cues from the G6 so that it can take advantage of the dust and water resistance capabilities better. The glass back will allow for wireless charging which is a plus.
There is also some speculation on price for the 64gb version which may come in around $700usd/$4700ttd.
The secondary display will be present and talks of an inset camera like the one present in the essentials phone may be there as well.
We will keep you updated on the LG V30 as we find out more.
