Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Roundup

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is scheduled to launch in August and we couldn’t be any more excited. The Note 7 last year set the market on fire (literally and figuratively) and we are all waiting to see if Samsung can right the necessary wrongs from a year ago.

Launching the device in August allows Samsung to get the jump on Apple who historically launches their iPhones every Septemeber. Apple is expected to go over and beyond with this year’s iPhone launch.

So let us break down some of the rumours we have heard thus far on the Note 8. As per Evan Blass of Evleaks (@evleaks), the model number for the device is SM-N950 and the code name is set to “Balkai” which refers to the Siberian lake which is popularly known as the deepest lake in the world.

The Note 8 may comprise of:

  • Pixel Sense 4K resolution display,
  • 4” display size Infinity display design
  • Pressure-sensitive screen
  • redesigned S-Pen
  • Dual Lens Camera
  • 3x Optical zoom, with telephoto and wide angle lens
  • 3500mAh battery
  • Nougat 7.1
  • Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 depending on your market
  • 6GB of RAM
  • S-Pen may have a speaker built in
  • Iris Scanner

Samsung Note 8

Now, these are most of the rumours we have gathered up and it does sound like it will be a beefier S8 plus. Now, what does all this look like in terms of cost? Well, the Note 8 is rumoured to come with a very high price tag. Its rumoured to be hitting shelves for $1,119usd/$7500ttd. Since the S8plus retails for $925usd, the Note 8 price tag seems to be right in line given the fact that the Note series usually costs more than the S series.

This, of course, is if you manage to order online. When this hits the shelves in Trinidad we can only guess how much more the price will raise. Bmobile has the S8plus retailing for $10,500ttd on prepaid, don’t be surprised if you witness your first $15,000ttd device.

The Samsung Note 8 will, of course, be another beast on the market, we just hope that this phone blows up for the right reasons this time around. The Note line is not made for everyone so don’t be too discouraged if you feel the price may be too high. One thing is for sure when it comes out, the price of the S8 and S8plus will go down, you could always pick up one of those options.

Are you looking forward to buying the Samsung Note 8?
