No bezel, slide out cameras, 10gb of RAM.
Xiaomi has finally taken the wraps off the device that had originally started the war on bezels. In it’s 3rd iteration, the Mi Mix 3 has finally corrected one of the biggest gripes, which was the selfie camera being located at the bottom, forcing consumers to turn the phone upside down to take a picture.
At the heart of the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is the Snapdragon 845 CPU.
The rear cameras are a 24mp+12mp sensor, with the 24mp a telefoto lens, while the primary 12mp sensor is a Sony IMX576 wide angle lens. The device scores a mark of 103 on the DxO chart, which ties with devices like the Samsung Note 9. Unlike the Oppo Find X, the slider is not motorized but is a manual magnetic slide that you can pop out whenever you want.
Storage & RAM
Things get interesting as the Mix 3 comes with 3 configurations. You can get the 128gb/6gb RAM, 256gb/8gb RAM, or 512gb/10gb RAM.
The Mi Mix 3 sports a screen to body ration of 93.4% and has finally switched from an LCD to OLED panel. It is 6.4″ and comes with a resolution of 1080×2340, with a ppi of 403.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is all about pushing the boundaries to what designers can do on a smartphone, to achieve the bezeless, notchless design we seek. The fact that they now have a 512gb of onboard storage backed by 10gb of RAM is impressive. What’s even more impressive is that Xiaomi has once again done this without coming close to $1000usd is another feat that should not be overlooked. As they say, variety is the spice of life and with all of the offerings on the market today from all of the OEMS, Xiaomi has done enough in my opinion to warrant being in the conversation for what your next device should be.
